For a long time, the history of Romani societies has been made from the archives of repression. This paper proposes to show how it is possible to circumvent a "source pitfall". It is a question of making another history of Romani mobility within the framework of a geohistory of movements that is no longer that of the control of mobilities but a true historical anthropology.
