[ABGESAGT] Fighting for fair working conditions - but how? Workshop on labour law in academia

Abstract

Working conditions at the university are precarious, not least because of the often fixed-term employment contracts. This makes it all the more important to familiarise oneself with the applicable laws and to develop perspectives on possibilities of collective action to improve working conditions. With the help of a legal expert, we want to get to the bottom of very specific problems of labour law in academia in this workshop and, among other things, shed light on and discuss common fixed-term employment practices by universities, the issue of recording working hours (Arbeitszeiterfassung) or the possibility of strike action.
